With its peach finish, Spanish cedar construction, ziricote fretboard, and carefully selected hardware, the UMA Jetson 2 is an electric guitar designed to make a visual and technical statement.

Some guitars are designed to blend into a familiar tradition. Others immediately invite a second look.
The UMA Jetson 2, built by UMA Guitars in Ghent, Belgium, belongs to the second category. Its peach finish and blue anodized guard give it a strong visual identity, while the choice of materials and hardware suggests that the design is about more than appearance alone.

I have always been drawn to vibrant guitar colours. In this case, the colour is part of an instrument that appears to have been designed as a statement.

The Jetson 2 features a Spanish cedar body and neck, a ziricote fretboard, ellipse inlays, UMA pickups, a Mastery bridge and vibrato, custom wiring, and Schertler tuning machines. Each element contributes to the character of the instrument, from the organic contrast of the woods to the modern colour and hardware choices.

The specifications are particularly interesting because they combine traditional luthier materials with contemporary components. The Spanish cedar construction gives the instrument a distinctive material identity, while the ziricote fretboard adds both visual depth and a dense playing surface. The Mastery bridge and vibrato provide a carefully engineered offset-style hardware combination, and the custom wiring suggests that the electronics were configured for more than a standard control layout. Mastery describes its offset vibrato systems as using a full-contact fulcrum plate and machined stainless-steel components.\[masterybridge\]

What makes a guitar like this compelling is not simply that it is unusual. It is that the unusual details appear to work together: the colour, wood choices, inlays, electronics, and hardware create a coherent design language.

For players looking beyond conventional production instruments, the UMA Jetson 2 is a reminder that an electric guitar can be both a practical tool and a highly personal object. Its appeal will depend on the player, of course, but it is difficult to dismiss a design with this much visual confidence.
